Model Risk Manager Junior - (M/F)

SG Global Solution Centre provides services in the areas of Application Development and Maintenance, Infrastructure Management, Business Process Management, and Knowledge Process Management, to Societe Generale’s business lines around the world.

As a part of the Risk Department, you will be at the center of Societe Generale’s business. The Risk Department aims to contribute to the development of business lines and their profitability through a challenging risk culture.

Working within the Risk Department is intellectually stimulating, and current economic activities guide our analysis daily. As a key business partner, the department is in close proximity to all of the Group’s business lines. Joining us would mean integrating into a network of proven excellent at the very center of the bank’s activities, opening access to new and exciting development opportunities.

Mission:

The missions of the Model Risk Manager are part of the reinforced context of regulatory for European market (ECB banking supervisory), accounting and sound management requirements, relating to the supervision and monitoring of models and their challenges.

In this context, the Model Risk Manager Junior is polyvalent and can work on various range of problematic linked to the model credit risk such as IFRS9 and IRB for retail and non-retail portfolio. And could work on other topic linked such as data science model or transversal project.

The incumbent is an individual contributor, and he is in charge of the review (such as Annual review or independent review but not limited) of internal models within the risk department (RISQ/MRM department) of Société Générale.

Among other, and with support if required, he conducts review work of internal models of the bank:

  • Consistent delivery of day-to-day activities,
  • Manage intermediate level case studies and challenges with minimal
  • Refer to governance/organization and regulation for the European market (BASEL, IFRS9, ).
  • Understanding  of   credit   life    cycle,    drivers    of credit    risk, model    life    cycle and basic understanding of components for computing RWA (PD, LGD, CCF, Correlation) and
  • In-depth statistical understandings and application of statistical knowledge to day-to-day deliveries (reviews, transversal, ) encompassing but not limited to, econometric modelling using univariate and multivariate cross-sectional and time series and techniques to evaluate risk differentiation, risk quantification and stability aspects of model(s).
  • He is able to brainstorm and challenge to find the solution or escalate the problem. He takes initiatives and participates in the life of the team (regular participation in internal MRM workshops, sharing of his knowledge including technical, organization of events …).
  • He understands his environment and denote a clear appetence to learn.

Profile:

  • Post-graduation degree in quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics & engineering). Additional certification in estimation of credit risk parameters or machine learning techniques will be
  • 0 to 5 years of working experience in Credit Risk model validation or model development, preferably in a bank or financial
  • General/good knowledge and strong interest in industry practices pertaining to model risk management, preferably credit risk domain along with basic regulatory understanding of Basel I/II/III/IV, CRR, IFRS9 and ECB guidelines and
  • Strong knowledge in statistical modelling In-depth statistical understanding including but not limited to descriptive statistics, univariate and bivariate analysis, regression methods and inferential statistics such as hypothesis testing.
  • Very good programming and logical skills (SAS, R and/or Python). Functional knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Very good soft skills: (i) clear and concise communication skills, (ii) listen actively, ask questions, and clarify points, and (iii) fluent in writing reports to deliver technical
  • Articulate the analyses performed and present it Communicate any challenges in review to mission lead/manager.
